Volvo Sees Impressive Increases Globally For August Sales

Last year was a record year for the Volvo brand, with its all-new 90 Series models driving sales to a best-ever 534,332 units pushed globally. While 2017 is far from over—although we’re getting there—the Swedish automaker is on track to eclipse that thanks to the introduction of the new XC60 and the continued success of other vehicles.

Around the world, Volvo sold a total of 37,879 models in August 2017, up from 32,800 vehicles for the same month last year, which represents an impressive growth of 15.5 percent. Of that number, 7,994 were sold to U.S. drivers, increasing 4.1 percent from last August. Which models were the most popular, you ask? First and second-gen XC60 models were the most popular globally (11,743 sold), with the first-gen still seeing continued success in the U.S. But the most popular Volvo model in America is the XC90.

More and more drivers are falling head over heels with the utility, safety, and advanced technology of our new Volvo lineup. Will you be next? Find out by contacting our Moline, IL dealership to discover the latest vehicles we have on tap.
